This page explains how Click Camera (the "App") collects, uses, and discloses information. Please read it before using the App.
The short version: the App collects no personal information, and no server of ours ever receives your content. Everything you capture stays on your device.
Click Camera is a camera app that keeps your content on the device and clears it automatically when it expires. It has no accounts and no backend of ours.
1. We do not upload your photos or videos
Photos, Live Photos, and videos you capture are written only to the App's private sandbox on your device. They are never uploaded to any server, and we have no way to read or analyze them.
2. We do not use iCloud — no sync, no backup
All data the App produces — media files, recognized text, capture location, thumbnail caches — is explicitly excluded from iCloud backup. None of it goes to the cloud.
Please note the unavoidable consequence: this content will not follow you to a new phone. That is by design, not a bug. If you need something long-term, save it to your system photo library or export it before it expires.
3. Text recognition runs on your device
The App performs text recognition (OCR) on photos and tries to extract the key detail — a password, a tracking number, a spot number, a time and place — so you can read it straight from the Lock Screen. This runs entirely on your device. The recognized text, like the image itself, never leaves it.
4. We do not analyze or collect face data
The App performs no face detection or facial recognition and collects no biometric information from your photos or videos.
5. The App has no account system
Using Click Camera requires no sign-up, no login, no phone number, and no email address. We therefore store no account-related personal information.
6. The App cannot read your photo library
We request add-only access to the system photo library. That means the App can write a single item to your library when you explicitly ask it to, and is technically unable to read, browse, or analyze the photos already there.
7. Content expires by default
Every item has a retention period — 7 days by default, changeable in Settings to 1, 3, 7, 14, or 30 days. When it expires, the item immediately becomes invisible and is then physically deleted from the device. Deletion cannot be undone. There is no trash, and no recovery service of any kind.
8. Uninstalling clears everything
Deleting the App causes the system to remove all of its sandboxed content and metadata. Nothing is left behind in any cloud.
The following describes the system permissions the App may request and why they are needed. These may change as the App is updated, and we will keep this page current.
Apart from the camera, no permission is requested at launch — each is requested the first time you use the feature that needs it, and you can change or revoke any of them at any time.
1. Camera
Used to take photos and record video; this is the App's core function.
If you deny camera access, the App cannot capture anything.
2. Microphone
Used to record sound alongside video, and requested only the first time you record a video.
If you deny it, videos and Live Photos are silently recorded without audio. Nothing else is affected, and we will not prompt you repeatedly.
3. Photo Library (add-only)
Requested only when you choose to save an item to your system photo library.
If you deny it, the item cannot be written to your library but remains viewable and shareable inside the App. The App requests add-only access and cannot read your library.
4. Location (while using the App)
Used to record where an item was captured so you can navigate back to it before it expires. Requested the first time you take a photo.
Location is stored only on the device, expires and is deleted along with the item, and is never uploaded. If you deny it, nothing else is affected.
Changing or revoking permissions
To change or revoke any of the above, open the system Settings app and find Click Camera.
1. No third-party SDKs, no analytics, no tracking
The App integrates no third-party analytics, advertising, crash-reporting, or push SDK. We collect no device identifiers, do not measure your usage, do not build user profiles, do not track you across apps or websites, and provide no data to any ad network.
2. Subscriptions and payment
Subscriptions are handled through Apple's App Store and StoreKit. This is the only situation in which the App uses the network. Payment methods, your Apple ID, and other billing details are handled by Apple; we neither see nor store them. Subscription validity is verified with Apple and determined on your device — we keep no server-side record of your purchase. Apple's handling is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
3. Widgets and Live Activities
So that you can see your most recent capture on the Lock Screen and Home Screen, the App writes thumbnails and the extracted key detail to a shared App Group container on the device, where widgets and Live Activities read them. This data always stays on the device and is never uploaded.
Please note: anything shown on the Lock Screen is visible to whoever is holding your phone, without unlocking it. Use your own judgment when capturing highly sensitive information; you can turn off these displays in system settings or in the App's settings.
4. Email feedback
When you write to us, your message will typically include your email address, your device model, and your system version. We use this only to reply to you and improve the service. We do not share it with third parties and do not use it for marketing.
5. Links to other sites
The App may contain links to other websites, such as Apple's support pages. These sites are not operated by us; we have no control over their content or privacy practices and accept no responsibility for them. We encourage you to read their own privacy policies.
The App is rated for users aged 4 and up. It is not directed at children, and it does not knowingly collect personal information from users of any age. Because the App collects no personal information, we hold no data that could belong to a child.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing.
As it applies to this App: we hold no personal information about you to access or delete. There is no account system, no analytics SDK, and no server that receives your content. Control over your data is entirely local — you can delete any item in the App at any time, change retention periods, or uninstall the App to erase everything.
The only information we directly control is what you choose to send us by email. If you would like it deleted, contact us using the address below and we will handle your request within a reasonable time.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any change will be announced by posting the new version on this page and takes effect immediately upon posting. You are advised to review this page periodically.
